Do you get any type of error? What does the diagnostics test under help menu show you? What rom are you using?

Do you have usb debugging enabled on the phone, all drivers installed (check device manager on your computer), and htc sync closed?

You need to point it to the location of java on your computer. Typically it’s going to be c:\program files\java\bin (on 32 bit) or c:\program files (x86)\java\bin (on 64 bit). If you don’t have it installed then you need to download and install Java’s JRE. http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
