Fix: Another Rosie + LWP Patch (OpenGL) (+Undo)
Note: You will not be able to use this fix and the weather animations. So if you want to use weather animations then don’t install this fix!
See below for a screen shot of what your weather animations will look like afterwards. Also I just updated the patch so that it will automatically remove the weather animations for you. Note that because this patch changes OpenGL it can have other side effects just like it did with weather animations. So don’t be too surprised. Notably Gallery3d (if you use it) will slow way down.
A lot of you have noticed that live wallpapers haven’t worked exactly as you thought, or launcher2 was having some issues, and especially live wallpapers in Rosie (which was just patched to work last night) was having issues. We all mostly assumed that it was caused by the memory kill off (and it still can be in some cases!) however thanks to MagnusRagnarok, jcase, and zifnab, we now have a better fix.
It turns out that our OpenGL has some issues. This patch will give you the full open gl es to correct the issue. The LWP’s may be a little glitchy at times however this should resolve any issues.
I took their patch that they had and combined it in to one, as well as adding the required Rosie with espresso for getting live wallpapers to work in rosie on fresh rom. I also have the patch wipe your dalvik-cache since a number of these programs were already included in fresh rom so expect a long first boot!

I just created an “undo” patch for anyone that decides they don’t want this OpenGL fix for any reason: http://link.geekfor.me/openglundo — This undo will put weather animations back on and will revert OpenGL back to ours. It will still leave you with the LWP-abled Rosie though.

It isn’t in fresh2.0d but there is an update that flip made to have gallery3D and i believe the music player.
IF you apply the update, than you will lose the HTC stock photo and music player.
But Flip has stated that these are extremely laggy and slow if using the LWP openGL fix.
here is the link to the website, so you can read about it in the XDA forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6168466
Here is the link to download them:

I have read that if you aren’t using LWP they work great. So use at your own discretion.

I knew that would be requested due to it’s performance with the OpenGL hack. This is why I make the kitchen though. haha. But in the mean time:

Ethan:
question so i disabled htc sense anyone know how to enable? You shouldn’t have to disable it anymore with this LWP patch because it can run in Rosie now instead of only launcher2.
But I take it you went into settings<applications<manage applicationsThen clicked clear defaults?
So when you press home button does it bring up a box that says:
Complete Action Using:
HTC Sense
Launcher-At the bottom of that box check that box and click which ever you want to make your default.
-But if you clicked default for launcher and want to go back to HTC Sense than, you just have to go back into settings<applications<manage applicationsThen Click clear defaults.
hit the home button and check the check mark the box for the default, then click on HTC Sense.
Does that help?

Evan:
stupid question, but if the LWP works without this update, is there any reason why I should install this? will it fix anything else?Evan,
The original 2.0d ROM had LWP that worked, but only with the launcher2, not with Rosie (w/ HTC Sense). The original update that Flip posted helped make the LWP, work with Rosie (HTC SENSE). Now he posted this update to make the LWP work a bit better by modifying the openGL. It will disable the weather animations (clouds when you unlock the screen), unless you want them and install the undo patch. Installing this patch will give you the original openGL but still make LWP work with rosie just not as good.
So my verdict is that if you want to use LWP than you should do the update.
Does that answer your questions?

I think there is a problem with unlocking phone with menu key. I have installed the latest vanilla lock screen fix and this update [Fix: Another Rosie + LWP Patch (OpenGL)]. Before the new rosie fix + lwp patch; I could easily unlock my cdma hero with double pressing “menu” key. After the update, “When using the Menu button to unlock the phone in Sense UI it pulls up the home screen menu after hitting menu the second time, when the expected result is for the phone to just be unlocked.” (geekfor.me) Other than that this is an excellent update. Its awesome thanks for the hard work and input you put in your roms for the community.

That feature was actually disabled by request. But there are multiple different versions. You can download one that still has menu to unlock enabled.

Download vanillalock1, 2, or 3 under the “bug” title, not 4, 5, or 6 under the “request” title.

Are you sure that you didn’t download the wrong vanilla lockscreen update?
There are quite a few that each of them do different things.
That’s my best guess because I have tried the new patch LWP OpenGL patch with both lockscreens and they both worked both ways, for me anyways.
***My best guess is that you can try re-flashing the vanilla lockscreen update that you would like. But make sure you have the right one.***
Thanks,

All depends what the size of the Sdcard is.
What is the size is yours?
“The SDcard will need two partitions, the first Fat / Fat32 & the second Ext2 For the Ext2 partition I wouldn’t go higher than 1.5GB cuz you may run into some issues. I was staying around the 500MB / 750MB area & it was working nice. As all the guides I’ve read state not to exceed the 1.5GB Marker.”

Keep me updated.I read through the comments as stated in the above link, but I am still having problems.
Running Fresh 2.0d, everything worked great, applied the LWP-OpenGL-Rosie-Fresh2 zip and everything seemed good. Then, I tried to do wifi tether and got a force close, tried superuser permissions and force close. Thus, it sounds like I have a superuser problem since installing this patch and can’t succeed in correcting. Please help! I even did a wipe>factory/data reset and reflashed Fresh 2.0d and still have the problem. Also to note, when in recovery if I try to wipe dalvik/cache, I get an error saying I need to do it via adb. Appreciate any help!

Thanks, I actually stumbled around and ran those commands right before you posted (I’m too impatient) and my superuser functionality is back in business. I guess I am good to go, but I did flash 2.0d again and rebooted, then went back to recovery and tried to wipe dalvik-cache from recovery and received the same error. Guess, I will always have to do it from the shell?

I like the transition animation that happens when you click home and your already in a app like messaging. Instead of the slide to the side like the default, it pops out from the center. (makes sense?)
So here is the problem. I did the openGL-undo update and it reverted to the default transition. Is there and app or something i can use to change it back or possible even use other “tranistions” or is it somehow tied to the system?
I even tried the Rosie-fix-popup and it also reverted back to the same default transition too.

Thats a bit over my head at this point of my knowledge of Android and Linux… Is there any way to be able to save the transitions or some tutorial or something that relations to this I can figure this out?
A Google search of various mixes of android, transition, framework and animation didn’t lead to much relevant results…
